  This is a genuine Ford air conditioning evaporator core for full-size F-150 trucks, Expedition, and Navigator, the front HVAC heat-exchanger that cools and dehumidifies the air entering the cabin. Refrigerant expands inside the evaporator core and absorbs heat from the air passing across its fins, so the blower delivers cold, dry air to the vents while condensed moisture drains away. As the cold side of the A/C system it is central to cabin cooling and defog performance. Owners replace the evaporator core when it leaks refrigerant and the A/C no longer holds a charge, when it is clogged or corroded, or when a buyer is chasing weak cooling, an A/C system that will not stay charged, or musty odors and drainage problems traced to the evaporator.
