This genuine Ford ignition coil-on-plug, the Motorcraft DG508, fits the 4.6L, 5.4L, and 6.8L modular Triton V8 and V10 engines across a broad service range from 1997 to 2019. Applications include the F-150, Crown Victoria, E-350 and E-350 Super Duty, Lincoln Town Car and Mark LT, Mercury Grand Marquis, and Mountaineer. Each coil mounts directly over a spark plug and delivers the high-voltage spark for that cylinder, and a weak or failed coil causes misfire, rough running, reduced power, and misfire codes. This part replaces 1L2Z-12029-AA and the F7TZ-12029 series. As original equipment it matches the factory output, connector, and boot design, so it seats over the plug and connects without adaptation. When replacing coils, it is good practice to inspect or renew the spark plugs and to check the coil boots for cracking or carbon tracking. After installation, confirm misfire codes are cleared and the engine runs smoothly under load.
