• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford front crankshaft oil seal, the seal that rides on the crankshaft snout at the front cover to keep engine oil contained where the crankshaft exits the engine. The seal lip rides against the crankshaft or damper hub surface, sealing the rotating shaft so pressurized engine oil stays inside the engine while the crankshaft spins. It is made with a precision sealing lip and durable elastomer to withstand continuous rotation, heat, and constant oil exposure. Owners replace this seal when it leaks oil at the front of the engine, when oil is found weeping from behind the crankshaft pulley or damper, or whenever the front cover, timing components, or balancer are serviced and the seal is disturbed.
