  This is a genuine Ford automatic transmission control solenoid used in the 4R70W and 4R75W family of rear-wheel-drive automatic transmissions. The solenoid regulates hydraulic fluid flow inside the valve body to control shift timing, torque converter clutch application, or line pressure depending on position, allowing the transmission to shift smoothly under electronic control. It applies to a broad range of 1998 through 2008 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles built with this transmission, including Crown Victoria, F-150, E-Series, Lincoln Town Car and Mark LT, and Mercury Grand Marquis and Mountaineer.
