  Genuine Ford brake hydraulic flex hose, Ford catalog name Hose Assembly - Brake, Motorcraft reference BRHR-38, for 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty F-250 F-350 and 2000-2005 Ford Excursion. This flexible high-pressure hose carries brake fluid from the rigid frame-mounted steel line to the moving front caliper, flexing with suspension travel and steering while containing full braking pressure. As the rubber ages it can crack, bulge, chafe, or swell internally, which produces a soft or spongy pedal, uneven braking or a pull to one side, a caliper that drags because the collapsed hose traps pressure, or visible fluid weeping at the crimped ends. Replacing a deteriorated hose restores firm pedal feel and even, predictable braking. The hose threads to the hard line and bolts or clips to the caliper and bracket; route it clear of the tire, suspension, and heat, and confirm it does not stretch or bind through full suspension travel and lock-to-lock steering.
