Longer-wheelbase configurations such as crew cab long bed models split the driveshaft into two sections joined at a center bearing that bolts to a crossmember beneath the cab; this component consists of a sealed ball bearing carried in a rubber isolator and steel mounting bracket that supports the intermediate shaft, dampens driveline vibration, and keeps the shaft properly aligned as the suspension moves.
