• Description:

  This is a genuine Ford engine coolant temperature, or ECT, sensor used across a broad range of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury applications including Super Duty trucks and F-150, where it threads into a coolant passage and reports coolant temperature to the powertrain control module. The module uses that reading for fuel, spark or injection timing, cooling-fan control and gauge operation, so an inaccurate or failing sensor can cause poor cold-start running, incorrect temperature readings, fan-control faults, or a check-engine light. This sensor replaces the earlier service number for the location. Built to Ford specifications for resistance curve, thread and connector fit, this OEM sensor matches the factory calibration so the module reads temperature accurately. Fitting the correct sensor restores proper temperature control. Drain enough coolant to access the port, apply any specified sealant on the threads, torque to spec, refill and bleed the system, and clear codes afterward.
