  This is a genuine Ford engine oil pump, Ford catalog name Pump Assembly - Oil, part number 9L3Z-6600-A. It is the gerotor-style oil pump that mounts to the front of the modular SOHC V8 engine and is driven off the crankshaft, drawing oil from the pan through the pickup tube and pressurizing the entire lubrication circuit that feeds the crank bearings, camshafts, lash adjusters, and timing chain tensioners. This pump fits the 4.6L and 5.4L two-valve and three-valve modular V8 family used across a wide span of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles from roughly 1999 through 2014, including F-150, Expedition, Explorer, Mustang, F-250 and F-350, Lincoln Navigator, and Mark LT. A worn or failing oil pump typically shows up as low oil pressure at idle, a flickering or illuminated oil pressure warning light, ticking or knocking from starved lifters and cam phasers, or a rattling timing chain caused by insufficient oil supply to the hydraulic tensioners.
