• Description:

  This is the passenger-side front door lock control rod, the internal linkage that connects the lock knob at the top of the door to the door latch mechanism. When an occupant raises or lowers the sill lock knob, this rod transfers that motion to the latch and locks or unlocks the door. It fits the right-hand front door of Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks and shares the same door hardware used on the Excursion, and it includes the lock knob. Symptoms that point to a worn or broken lock rod include a knob that moves but does not lock or unlock the door, a knob that flops with no resistance, a disconnected rod rattling loose inside the door, or a door that will not lock manually even though the power lock still cycles. This genuine Ford rod is the correct service replacement and supersedes F81Z-2521852-AAA. It installs inside the door with the trim panel removed, clipping into the latch and the knob to restore proper manual locking. Confirm the passenger, right-hand side and the front door application before ordering, as the driver side uses the mirror-image companion rod.
