This Genuine Ford Motorcraft steering tie rod end adjusting sleeve is the threaded connector that joins the inner and outer tie rod segments on F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks built across the 1999 to 2022 range, and it is the component a technician rotates to set the front toe alignment. The sleeve threads onto the tie rod ends and clamps tight, locking in the precise steering geometry that keeps the wheels parallel and the truck tracking straight. A corroded, seized, or damaged sleeve makes alignment adjustment impossible, can allow the toe setting to drift, and may crack or strip so the tie rod loses clamp load, producing wandering steering and rapid, uneven tire wear. Installing this OEM Motorcraft sleeve restores clean, adjustable threads and a secure clamp for a proper alignment. It is manufactured to factory thread and dimensional specifications; clean and lubricate the threads, then torque the clamp bolts to Ford specification and set front toe alignment after fitting.
