  This is the genuine Ford steering column transmission shift tube for column-shift E-150, E-250 and E-350 Club Wagon vans and E-350 and E-450 Super Duty vans built across roughly 2005 to 2019. The shift tube runs inside the steering column and transmits motion from the column shift lever down to the transmission shift linkage, so that moving the lever selects the gear accurately and the gear indicator reads correctly. It is a part of the steering column housing and components, and over time the tube and its bushings can wear, crack or develop play, which shows up as a sloppy or vague shifter, a gear indicator that no longer lines up, or difficulty selecting a gear cleanly.
