• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford power steering pump pulley, a six-groove steel pulley that mounts on the power steering pump shaft and is driven by the serpentine belt to turn the pump. It is used across a broad range of Ford vehicles including E-Series, Expedition, Explorer, F-150 and Super Duty applications with gasoline engines as well as the 6.0 liter diesel, and it is the pulley included with the power steering pump on those vehicles. The pulley transfers belt drive to the pump so the system can generate hydraulic pressure for steering assist; a bent, cracked or wobbling pulley, or one with damaged grooves, causes belt squeal, belt misalignment, accelerated belt wear and inconsistent steering assist. Replacing a damaged pulley restores correct belt tracking and quiet, reliable operation. The pulley is a press fit on the pump shaft and requires the proper power steering pulley installer and remover tools to service without damaging the pump; do not hammer the pulley on, as this can ruin the pump bearing and seal. After installation, verify that the pulley sits at the correct depth so it aligns with the other belt pulleys, then confirm belt routing and tension. Because pulley diameter and groove count vary by engine and accessory layout, confirm your engine and application against the VIN before ordering.
