This is the genuine Ford screw and lockwasher assembly, a fastener with an integral captive lockwasher used to secure transmission mount crossmembers, engine support insulators and related brackets and hangers across Expedition, Excursion and E-350, F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty applications spanning the 4.6, 5.4, 6.2, 6.8, 7.3, 6.4 and 6.7 liter engines. The captive lockwasher acts together with the screw so the joint resists loosening under the vibration and load that drivetrain and exhaust mounts experience, maintaining clamp load without a separate loose washer. This assembly is commonly needed when an original is lost during a transmission, mount, crossmember or exhaust repair, or has corroded or had its threads damaged. It supersedes the earlier 391558-S100 and 391558-S103 parts. Fitting the correct screw and lockwasher restores a secure, vibration-resistant joint. For a proper repair, match the thread to the application, make sure the mating surfaces are clean so the integral washer seats flat, and tighten to the specification for the joint being assembled.
