This is a single-use fastener that Ford specifies cannot be reused or reinstalled, so it should be replaced rather than refitted. This is a genuine Ford upper control arm outer bolt, the fastener Ford uses at the rear suspension upper control arm to knuckle joint on Explorer, Police Interceptor Utility, and the Lincoln Aviator from roughly 2020 to 2025, referenced in Ford service action 22N06. It carries the clamp load that locates the upper arm to the knuckle, setting rear geometry. If a bolt that has been torqued to yield is reused, it may not re-establish correct preload, letting the arm shift and alignment drift, so the correct OEM bolt installed new and the suspension checked on an alignment rack restores proper geometry.
