  This is the genuine Ford plastic push rivet, a retainer used at fender liners, cowl and grille panels, vent panels, bumper-cover spacers and wheel-well liners across a very broad range of applications, including locations such as the Explorer Sport Trac and Super Duty cowl among many others. The two-piece push rivet works by inserting the body into a hole and pushing the center pin to expand the base, locking the fastener and clamping the panel in place without tools. It holds liners, shields and trim securely against the body so they stay positioned and do not flap, rattle or tear away at speed. These rivets are frequently needed because the originals break or distort during removal, age and become brittle, or are lost, which lets a liner or panel sag, pull loose or get damaged.
