Sample applications include the F-150, F-350 and F-550 Super Duty and Navigator aluminum body; these examples are illustrative rather than a complete fitment list. A rivet joint that is disturbed or improperly set loses clamp strength at the pillar, which weakens the body structure. This is a self-piercing rivet that is permanently deformed as it is driven, so it cannot be reused and a new rivet must be installed whenever the joint is opened.
