  This is the genuine Ford rear output shaft bearing for the transfer case used in four-wheel-drive F-150, Expedition and Navigator models from the mid 2000s onward. The roller bearing supports the transfer case rear output shaft where it carries torque to the rear driveshaft, allowing the shaft to spin smoothly under load while holding it in correct alignment within the case. As the bearing wears it produces a whine, growl or rumble that rises and falls with vehicle speed, and in advanced stages it allows shaft play that can damage the output seal, the housing bore and the shaft itself.
