  This is a genuine Ford Motorcraft tire pressure monitoring system sensor kit that mounts inside the wheel at the valve stem and continuously measures the air pressure and temperature of each tire, transmitting that data by radio frequency to the vehicle body module so the instrument cluster can warn the driver of a low or rapidly deflating tire. It operates on the 315 MHz radio frequency band used across a broad range of Ford cars, trucks, and SUVs, and is supplied as a complete service kit with the sensor body, valve stem, seal, and mounting hardware. Common symptoms that lead a buyer here include a tire pressure warning light that stays on, a dashed-out or blank pressure readout for one wheel position, a sensor that no longer reports after a tire change, or a dead internal battery in an aging sensor, since these units are sealed and cannot be recharged. As Ford specifies, the sensor is not reusable once removed and must be replaced whenever the valve stem seal is disturbed during a tire dismount, so a fresh kit is installed rather than reinstalling the old unit. After installation the sensor must be trained or relearned to the vehicle and to its wheel position using the proper tire pressure relearn procedure so the module recognizes it; failing to relearn will leave the warning lamp illuminated.
