This is a genuine Ford Motorcraft SP-589 platinum spark plug, the ignition component that arcs high voltage across its platinum-tipped center and ground electrodes to ignite the compressed air-fuel mixture, firing once per cylinder every combustion cycle. It fits a broad range of 2011-2025 naturally aspirated Ford engines, including 3.3L, 3.5L non-turbo and 3.7L Cyclone V6, 5.0L Coyote V8, 7.3L Godzilla V8 and 2.0L four-cylinder applications, so confirm the specific engine for your vehicle. A worn or fouled plug produces misfire, rough idle, hesitation on acceleration, hard starting, reduced fuel economy and a check-engine light. The platinum electrode resists erosion for a long service interval and holds a stable gap, and the plug arrives pre-gapped from the factory. In the Motorcraft catalog this is service plug SP-589, model code CYFS-12Y-T6. Replace all plugs together as a complete engine set, start each by hand to protect the aluminum head threads, and torque to the Ford-specified value on a cool engine.
