This genuine Ford oil seal is the differential pinion seal that rides on the pinion flange yoke where the driveshaft connects to the axle or differential, sealing gear lubricant inside the housing while the pinion shaft rotates. Ford catalogs it as Seal Assy - Oil under base number 4N046, and it is included with the differential assembly. It serves a broad range of 2005-2020 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles including Edge, Escape, Explorer, Fusion, and Taurus, the Lincoln Continental, and Mercury Mariner, Milan, and Sable, making it a common driveline service seal across many platforms.
