This genuine Ford Motorcraft platinum spark plug provides the ignition spark that lights the compressed air-fuel charge in each cylinder, a fundamental component of the engine's ignition system that directly affects power, smoothness and emissions. It serves a broad range of 1991-2007 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles, including Mustang, equipped with 4.6L, 5.0L, 2.5L and 3.0L DOHC engines, and carries the Motorcraft engineering cross-reference AGSF-32F-MX. When a platinum plug wears past its service life the driver typically notices misfire, rough or unstable idle, stumbling under load, longer crank times, poor fuel economy and a check engine light for misfire faults. The platinum-tipped center electrode resists erosion for long, stable service life, and the plug ships pre-gapped to Ford's factory specification for a ready-to-install fit, with one plug used per cylinder. Torque to the specified value to avoid thread or insulator damage.
