• Description:

  This is a genuine Motorcraft engine coolant temperature sensor, catalog number DY-1144, that threads into the cooling passage and reports coolant temperature to the powertrain control module as a variable resistance signal. The module uses that reading to trim fuel delivery during warm-up, set ignition timing, manage cold-start enrichment, and command the electric cooling fan and the temperature gauge. This sensor is a broad, cross-platform Ford service part covering many light-duty and heavy-duty applications, including 1997-1999 light-duty trucks, 1999-2007 Super Duty F-Series, 1992-1998 heavy-duty applications, and F-150 from 1997-2003 plus the 2004 Heritage.
