• Description:

  This genuine Ford Motorcraft constant velocity joint boot kit provides the replacement flexible boot, clamps, and correct grease needed to reseal a front halfshaft CV joint across a broad range of Ford vehicles. The boot is the pleated cover that seals a CV joint, holding the special joint grease inside while keeping road water, dirt, and grit out so the joint can articulate smoothly as the wheels steer and the suspension travels. A torn or cracked boot is the most common reason to buy this kit: once the boot splits it slings grease around the inside of the wheel well, lets contamination into the joint, and leads to a clicking or knocking noise on turns that, if ignored, ruins the entire axle. Fitting a fresh boot kit early restores the seal and can save the halfshaft from complete replacement. The kit is offered for both inner and outer joint positions and is the boot portion that is otherwise included with a complete axle assembly, letting a technician renew just the seal when the joint itself is still serviceable. Proper installation calls for thoroughly cleaning and repacking the joint with the supplied grease, seating the boot squarely in its grooves, and securing both clamps tightly so the seal does not weep or throw grease.
