  This is the genuine Ford high-note horn, a single-note horn tuned to the higher pitch of the two-horn arrangement and mounted on the right side, supplied with its bracket. It was used across a broad range of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles from the 1990s and 2000s. In a dual-horn system the high-note and low-note horns sound together to produce the full, harmonized tone, so a failed high-note horn leaves the warning sound thin, weak or off-pitch. The horn produces sound electrically when the horn circuit is energized, and common failure modes include internal corrosion, a burned or open winding, or contact damage that leaves the horn silent or buzzing.
