This is a genuine Motorcraft HVAC blower motor control module, which functions as the blower speed control module and resistor, superseding earlier Motorcraft number YH-1827. It fits a broad range of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles from roughly 2005 through 2019 equipped with automatic temperature control, which is why no single model line or year is named. The module takes the fan-speed command from the climate control head and delivers a variable high-current output to the blower motor, giving smooth stepless fan control on automatic-climate systems. When it fails the blower typically stops working, runs at only one speed, stays on continuously, or cuts out at random, and airflow no longer responds to the climate setting. As a factory Motorcraft component it plugs into the original harness connector and mounts in the original location for a direct fit, restoring correct blower operation.
