• Description:

  This is the genuine Ford lower control arm mount bolt, also cataloged as a suspension control arm bolt, an M16 x 97mm hex-head fastener that secures a suspension control arm to the frame, subframe or knuckle. It is a shared service fastener used across many Ford and Lincoln platforms, including Ford Escape, Fusion, Explorer, Mustang and F-350 Super Duty and Lincoln Aviator, Continental and MKX, so it is offered as a multi-vehicle hardware item rather than for a single model year. The bolt carries the full suspension load at the control arm pivot, so correct grade and torque are essential to steering and handling. This is a single-use, torque-to-yield style fastener: it stretches when tightened to its final specification and must not be reused. Always install a new bolt and torque it to the Ford specification for your application whenever the control arm is disturbed; reusing the original can cause loss of clamp load and a loose or noisy suspension joint.
