• Description:

  This genuine Ford Motorcraft cap is the main cooling-system reservoir cap for 2015-2019 Ford trucks built with the 6.2L and 6.8L gasoline engines and the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel. It threads onto the coolant degas or expansion reservoir and holds the calibrated pressure that raises the coolant boiling point, controls thermal expansion, and keeps the radiator, degas bottle, and engine passages full and free of trapped air. A spring-loaded valve maintains rated system pressure and vents to the bottle when pressure climbs, while the vacuum valve returns coolant as the engine cools so the system stays topped and the hoses do not collapse. On the high-output gas and diesel applications it serves, a cap that cannot hold spec pressure is a common and easily overlooked cause of overheating under load, coolant loss, steam or sweet odor at the reservoir, white residue around the neck, and recurring low-coolant warnings.
