• Description:

  This is the genuine Motorcraft fuel injection pressure regulator, part CM-5350, the Ford OEM regulator used on 1991-2001 Ford port-fuel-injected gasoline engines. The regulator mounts on the fuel rail and holds fuel pressure at the injectors to a calibrated value, bleeding excess fuel back to the tank through the return line and, on manifold-referenced designs, adjusting rail pressure against intake vacuum so injector delivery stays consistent across engine load. Owners replace it when fuel pressure runs high or low, causing symptoms such as hard starting, rough or rich idle, black smoke, fouled plugs, poor fuel economy, hesitation, or a fuel smell, and especially when raw fuel is found in the vacuum reference hose, a classic sign the internal diaphragm has ruptured. Because a failed regulator either floods the engine with excess fuel or starves it under load, restoring correct rail pressure is essential to driveability and emissions.
