This genuine Ford rain sensor pad is the clear silicone gel insulator that bonds the automatic rain-sensing module to the inside of the windshield, maintaining an optical, air-free coupling so the sensor can accurately detect moisture and trigger the wipers. It fits a broad range of vehicles including the 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2019 Escape, 2012 Focus, 2015-2023 Transit, and 2014-2018 Transit Connect equipped with rain-sensing wipers and the electrochromatic mirror system. When the original gel pad dries out, clouds, delaminates, or traps air bubbles, the rain sensor loses contact with the glass and the automatic wipers may fail to activate in rain, sweep erratically, or run continuously in dry conditions. This is the correct replacement whenever the windshield or mirror mount is serviced. Supplied as a direct-replacement OEM gel pad, it restores proper sensor-to-glass optical contact and reliable automatic wiper operation.
