This genuine Ford valve stem cap, catalogued by Ford as Cap - Valve and commonly listed as a tire pressure monitor cap, is the small threaded cap that seals the top of the tire valve stem on a very wide range of Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles built from roughly 2007 through 2025, including Bronco, C-Max, E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450, Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Ranger, Lincoln MKS, MKX and Navigator, and Mercury Mariner and Milan. Although it looks like a trivial piece, the cap is a functional part of the tire pressure monitoring system: it carries an internal sealing gasket that keeps water, road salt, brake dust and grit out of the valve core, which is what prevents slow leaks and galvanic corrosion between the metal stem and the cap. Ford specifies this part because the material and thread form are matched to the aluminum sensor stems used on its monitoring hardware. Buyers usually need one after losing a cap during a tire rotation, after finding a seized or corroded cap that will not unscrew, or while replacing a sensor service kit. Install it hand tight only, and if a cap ever seizes to the stem, replace the stem hardware rather than forcing it, since a snapped aluminum stem means a new sensor assembly.
