  This genuine Ford direction indicator turn-off cam, commonly called the turn signal cancel cam or signal cam, is the small internal steering column component that rides on the steering shaft and automatically returns the turn signal switch to the neutral position after a turn is completed. It is a long-running service part that fits a wide range of Ford vehicles built from 1992 through 2011, including Aerostar, Bronco, Explorer, Ranger, F-Series Super Duty trucks, and E-Series Econoline vans across both six-cylinder and V8 gas and diesel applications. When this cam wears, cracks, or breaks, the turn signal will fail to self-cancel after turning, will cancel too early, or the lever will feel loose and fail to hold in position, forcing the driver to shut the signal off by hand. Because it is a molded part buried in the steering column, replacement typically accompanies steering column or multifunction switch service.
